Advanced traditional upholstery - 12 week course

An advanced course in traditional upholstery skills. The next step in your journey...

Traditional Upholstery School has designed this course to provide students with the next step up on their traditional upholstery journey. Advanced Traditional Upholstery course runs once a week on Thursdays for 12 weeks. Each student works on a beautiful chair frame* designed by us – and based on a beautiful antique original. Students start at the beginning with the design and planning, and work through all the upholstery processes – from hand springing to edge stitching and creating a perfect finish – just as you would when working professionally.

This 12-week course is unique to Traditional Upholstery School and will suit students who have started their upholstery learning journey, perhaps having completed our Foundation Course, Stage One of the AMUSF diploma or tackled the basics of traditional upholstery on a hobby course. It is offers a supportive, structured next step, enabling students to focus on advanced skills, increase their confidence and hone their ability to create furniture with a beautiful quality finish.

*The chair frame is the top centre photo. It is made in solid beech by our frame-maker in the UK. We’ll have more images to follow once we have taken delivery.
