Book a day of one-to-one tuition with an expert lampshade tutor – Joanna, Mel or Naomi – in the sewing room at Traditional Upholstery School. You’ll be taught all the core skills, from how to plan and measure the fabric, to hand stitching the pleats in place, all while making a shade covered in your own fabric. Skills include fitting an informal pleated or a balloon lining, and a making smart bias trim.

Every stage is taught step by step to a professional standard and at your own pace. At the end of an enjoyable and rewarding day you will take home your own beautiful lampshade and the skills to make many more. This day is suitable for beginners and sew-ers alike.
