Wood Finishing with Harry Morris

A one-day workshop in essential wood finishing skills for upholsterers

Making old chipped, scuffed and faded wood look glorious again is often left to the upholsterer… and yet it can be a minefield of specialist techniques and materials. This essential skills course is designed to enable you to tackle wood finishing with confidence, knowledge and care. You will be taught how to identify an existing surface and when to use spit (yes really!) or white spirits to clean it.

Harry Morris of HTMorris Furniture delivers this highly useful course designed especially for Traditional Upholstery School. Harry will explain the usefulness of colour, oils, varnishes, shellac, wax, and when and how to use them. As well as an informative and lively talk and demonstration, students will have a go at applying products and creating different finishes. You will be supplied with very informative class notes to take away.

9.30am to 4.45pm, with a break for lunch.
