Learn to Make a Gathered Lampshade

Whether you choose to bring a superbly bright piece of silk dupion or a treasured vintage sari, on this creative one-day workshop you’ll make a beautiful hand stitched gathered lampshade, and learn the skills to make many more.

Working in our well-equipped sewing room, you will be taught by step by step though the process: binding the frame, planning and measuring your fabric, hand stitching, fitting a lining and finishing with an incredibly useful bias trim.  

Your expert tutors will encourage you to explore the technique using different shapes and fabrics, giving you the confidence to enjoy your new skill creatively at home. The course is suitable for beginners, hobby sew-ers and professional soft furnishers.
