Friday Morning Hobby Class

Join our friendly class for hobby upholsterers
Traditional Upholstery School's new Friday Hobby Class runs about every six weeks. This full-day session gives students plenty of time to get stuck into their upholstery project, learn and practise new skills, and make a real difference to their progress. Our lovely tutor Alice (above, third from left) will guide and teach you to do a beautiful job... and enjoy it too! Hobby Class starts at 9.30am and ends at 4pm.
What can I bring to upholster?
Bring your own chair
Perhaps you have a family heirloom or a favourite chair that needs some repairs or snazzing up with new cover? Bring it along and learn the skills to breathe new life into it. As a guide total beginners should avoid bringing anything too complex. As for size.. if you can lift it into your car without help, it’s probably fine. If you are not sure and would like advice, do email us a photo.
Make a bespoke footstool
Traditional Upholstery School has its own range of footstool frames designed to be fitted with a huge choice of leg styles.
In just a couple of well-spent days you'll be able to take home your own footstool covered in your own fabric choice. Sizes and prices for footstool frames and legs are available - do email us. Thank you.
Make a bespoke pouffe
Traditional Upholstery School has its own range of pouffe frames. In just a day you'll be able to take home your own bespoke pouffe. Sizes and prices for pouffe frames are available - do email us. Thank you.
