Professional Diploma in Upholstery... a new career?
The Traditional Upholstery School's Professional Diploma in Upholstery is designed specifically to train individuals in the skills required to set up as an upholsterer. Training one day a week in the workshop over a full academic year, students build up their techniques working on a range of furniture. This progressive training reinforces the understanding required to go on to launch a business or find employment in the upholstery sector. (And the grand news is that the world seems to never have quite enough top notch upholsterers!). With typically only five students per course, the amount and quality of the tuition received is exceptional, and is geared to individual needs.
Whether you have chosen upholstery as a second career, or to complement an already successful career in interiors, you can make your new upholstery business as creative and varied as you want it to be. You do not need any skills to begin this course, although a love of fabric and passion for working with your hands is a very good start.
"Joanna's patience, good humour and enthusiasm gave me the confidence to start my own business. She's an absolute gem!" Jenny, Oxford 2016
