Advanced Professional Diploma in Upholstery
This second in-depth year of tuition allows students who have graduated from the Professional Diploma Course to further explore creative upholstery and to cement their technical skills.
Students build their confidence and creative repertoire working on two complex pieces of furniture, plus several sample frames. Each student will work on a traditional sprung armchair, which will be reupholstered using traditional methods and materials. Their second piece will be a modern chair, such as a concave mid-20th century style egg chair. Students will also work on a range of technical skills, including more complex traditional stitched edges, fluting and deep buttoning styles.
